Artist Wrapper30, answers Gog’s cantabar -podcast to the question: How has the popularity of the Eurovision Song Contest affected his life?

A wrapper, in fact Jere Pöyhönen, says that he enjoyed the popularity he received for the first two weeks. According to the artist, after that it started to become partly a burden.

– Of course, I wouldn’t want to tell any fan that they are a burden, when they really aren’t. They practically pay my salary and I value them more than anything, he emphasizes in the episode.

The artist says that the feeling turned to anxiety. The wrapper even began to think too much about how someone would always look at or describe him.

– It becomes such a fear and anxiety about your own condition, when you no longer have it, he opens.

The anxiety was made worse by Käärijä’s concern about whether he gave enough time to his fans in the short meetings. The artist also feels guilty about being numb to the words and fan letters of thousands of fans.

– At some point, the things they say no longer have any meaning. Then I get a bad feeling about that feeling, he states.

With the situation, Käärijä hardly wants to leave his home in his spare time. The wrapper found it reassuring that he spent his vacation in Thailand, where few people recognized him.

– It didn’t matter – it was what my life used to be. It even felt a little nice. You only got to be you, he repeats.

Käärijä also told Iltalehte about his busy life at the Linna party.

– I don’t see my friends, and sometimes it’s been a really sad thing for me. On the other hand, I do what I want now and I hope people understand that. You have to learn to live with this. Next year, things will be done so much better that everything remains under control, he emphasized.

The Gogi kantabari podcast is available to listen to Yle Arena.
