While Floor Bremer is now pretty much a test figure on the RTL talk shows, we see Wouter de Winther less and less often. “Maybe Humberto doesn’t like De Telegraaf that much.”
Wouter de Winther, the political journalist for De Telegraaf, is receiving fewer and fewer talk show bookings. Media critic Victor Vlam noted a month and a half ago that he clearly ‘on his way down‘ is: “This is someone who is falling from grace. He was Jinek’s regular political interpreter, but he has been less visible there lately.”
Wouter responds
How exactly does this work? Why does Wouter almost never sit with Beau or Humberto? Wilfred Genee asks him point-blank in the column In The Walkways. “Well, of course, it depended on Jinek for the entire program and they came as substitutes. I think Beau said that very clearly.”
He continues: “But yes, I have always been a fan of Jinek and she is also a journalist, right? Beau is a presenter who sometimes has to work very hard to fully absorb politics, because that is not his core business. That is Eva’s. It’s a bit easier for her in that regard.”
Not with Humberto
Wilfred does point out Humberto’s years of experience as a presenter of RTL Late Night. “Humberto did it on his own for a long time.”
Wouter measuredly: “Yes, but I am not with Humberto. I am with Op1 and now with you.”
Wilfred: “You haven’t been to Humberto’s yet?”
Wouter: “Only if he fills in for Eva.”
Telegraph hate?
Wilfred finds it striking that Humberto apparently does not want Wouter to sit at the table with him. “Is there a reason why you are not with Humberto?”
Wouter: “No, I don’t think so. Maybe he’s not that crazy about De Telegraaf, you have those people.”
Wilfred: “So you could be on the blacklist at Humberto?”
Wouter: “Hahaha. That’s a joke?”
Black list
That’s no joke, says Wilfred. “No, I don’t mean it in terms of color. Isn’t that just an expression? The blacklist? A blacklist is a concept that people are not allowed to enter.”
Wouter: “I am on my guard, I am on my guard.”
