Wouter Bessels bundled his rich musical life in ‘Plaat voor je kop’

With his pacifier in his mouth, Bessels was already idolized by everything that produces music. “When I was two years old I started playing records at the playgroup. And my mother played a lot of music at home: ABBA, Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, The Beatles… That’s how my love for music came about.”

Plate for your cup is for novice music lovers and people with advanced interests, Bessels continues. “If you want to go further into depth, you will get your money’s worth,” he promises. “You go from one thing to the next, along with the musical journey I have experienced.”

Part of this ‘personal anthology’, as Bessels describes it, is that not all major artists have been included. So missing U2 and Queen, two bands with a history of music. “I didn’t experience that as that memorable. It is therefore a personal book, full of my own experiences and adventures.”
