“Would be a nice end”: Delfine Persoon dreams of title camp
“When they said it was canceled in the morning, I had already gone to get a Red Bull and a Snickers and a bag of candy,” Delfine Persoon describes the moment after the bad news last week. “I just had that snicker on and had started my second Red Bull when my trainer Filiep got a phone to say that the camp was still going on. Hopla, Red Bull aside, we are sinning here. be good.”
The camp was grueling. Only at the end was it clear that Persoon had an advantage. With a tear in her biceps too. But the goal is in: a fight for the WBC title beckons. “We also received a phone call this morning that we are effectively the official challenger and that Alice Baumgartner, the WBC champion, can’t get past us. We do know from the organizer that he plans to set up again in October and that he is interested in putting us back on the program, probably also back in Dubai.”
Nice career slot
“That would be a very nice ending. Certainly to go for it. Of course, you have to win. That must also work. But it would be nice to also include that.”
