The current management, which consists of the founder Horst Wortmann, the managing partner and CEO Jens Beining as well as the partners Giovanni Lacatena and Ulrich Klüber, will undergo some changes in the coming years, Wortmann KG announced on Thursday. The group of companies from Detmold is bringing long-standing employees into management positions into the management team.
“The generational change at Tamaris, which was initiated at an early stage, ensures continuity, which means the company remains on the road to success,” said Beining. “The future management stands for the usual reliability, specialist retail orientation, willingness to innovate and the sustainable further development of the brand.”
Succession from within our own ranks
Klüber is stepping down next summer due to age. He is followed by Matthias Rodemeier, who takes on the role of Chief Product Officer within the management of Wortmann KG. In this position, in addition to the Tamaris collection, he will also be responsible for sales in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) region. He has been with the company since 2008. After initially being responsible for the collection items from Europe within Tamaris product management, he took over management of the entire collection in 2020.
In addition to Rodemeier, Michael Romberg, who already works as managing director and partner at Jana Shoes, will also be appointed to Wortmann’s management as Chief Production Officer. Romberg will be responsible for sourcing and production of the Tamaris brand and thus also the coordination function in the group. He began his career in 1996 as a trainee at Wortmann and then built the Jana brand.
A year later, in the summer of 2027, Lacatena will also end its operational responsibility at Wortmann KG as planned, according to the announcement. From June 2027, Nico Gold will take over the areas of international sales and system partnership as Chief Sales Officer, for which he is responsible in addition to his current role at Wortmann Fashion Retail. He also started his career at the Wortmann Group with his training, which he began in 1997. After going through various positions within the group of companies and playing a key role in building the Tamaris brand, he took on the role of Managing Director of Wortmann Fashion Retail in 2011. In this role he is responsible for setting up online activities and Tamaris stores. In his new role, he will receive support from Felix Schmalenberger, a long-time managing director in this division of the group, in expanding international sales.
“We are very proud that all three new managing directors were able to be appointed from within our own ranks"said Beining. “Everyone has already completed their training in our family business. This once again underlines the value and importance of investing in the training of your own offspring and shows the opportunities that young talents have with us.”
