The news that the butcher is closing is causing a lot of commotion among regular customers. “Everyone is talking about it here at the counter,” says Annelies Hellinga. “At the end of the day you wear it out, but it’s also nice to see how much people sympathize. The Hellinga family, originally from Groningen, resigns themselves to the situation: “You can oppose it, but that will not help you”, thinks Jelle Hellinga. “You then have a long-term procedure and my lawyer expects that you can get an amount of about 75,000 euros, but we have not been helped with that.
