Bundesliga club Fürth is currently often described as a point supplier. No wonder: the club is last in the table. But there are first division clubs where things are going even worse – for example in Moldova.
Something historic happened in this first half of the Bundesliga. It was not until the 15th matchday that SpVgg Greuther Fürth achieved their first victory of the season, after a record series of 12 defeats in a row.
It looks really bleak for the club: Fürth has only collected five points after 17 match days, even less than nine years ago (nine points), and with one win and two draws is only a little better than Tasmania Berlin 56 years ago (one Win, a tie).
And despite the second worst first half of the Bundesliga history, Greuther Fürth is not Europe’s weakest first division club. This bitter title belongs to FC Floresti from Moldova (see table).
The club lost all 19 games in the first half of the season. In addition, you had to deal with a six-point deduction as part of the match-fixing scandal in the country last season. So you are currently at six points in the minus (You can find out more about the reasons for the point deduction here).
