In Berlin, the German authorities succeeded in the night from Thursday to Friday to defuse a 500 kg bomb from the Second World War. The explosive was discovered Thursday morning at a construction site in the Friedrichshain district, in the east of the city. About 12,000 inhabitants within a radius of 500 meters around the site had to be temporarily evacuated.
