Team Germany remains at the World Games in Chinese Chengdu in the medal frenzy.

After the successful start on Friday with four gold medals, the Team D collected four gold again on Saturday and now leads the medal mirror – especially thanks to Nina Holt.

The lifeguard won the 4x25m manicinal relay and the 4x50m medley relay and also won the gold medal over 50 m Manikin Carry.

“I’m really happy that we could end it that way,” said Holt after the last race. The 22-year-old from DLRG Harsewinkel secured gold at each of her five starts and is now the second most successful athlete in the World Games.

Overall, Holt, who had worn the German flag together with fin swimmer Max Pokchart, is now at nine gold and bronze medal and is therefore only behind the former German fin swimmer Jürgen Kolenda, who won eleven gold medals.

The fourth gold of the day succeeded in the German karate team. One day after the triumph of Mia Bitsch, Johanna Kneer (27/KJC Ravensburg) won the title in the class over 68 kg.

“It was a hard piece of work and is an incredible result. Now we are number one in the medal mirror,” said Kneer afterwards. With eight gold medals, Germany is in front of Italy and China at the twelfth edition of the World Games.

211 athletes from Germany compete with around 5000 athletes in 25 of the 34 sports with 256 medal decisions with around 5000 athletes. The World Games are the largest and most important stage for the athletes of the non-Olympic sport.
