World Figure Skating Championships: Two World Championship medals to Finland

Finland won two medals at the World Figure Skating Championships. Gold went to Canada.

Helsinki Rockettes led the race in Hamilton, Canada with 82.76 points after the short program, but a bad mistake in the freestyle dropped the team to the World Cup bronze.

One of the skaters crashed. Another skater also fell after stumbling into a skater who had fallen to the surface of the ice.

The second Finnish team, Marigold IceUnity, rose to the World Championship silver. After the short program, the team was ranked fourth.

The Canadian team Les Supremes won the world championship with a total of 236.31 points. Marigold IceUnity scored 228.72 and Helsinki Rockettes 226.20.

After the short program, Les Supremes was second with 81.51 points, Canadian team Nexxice third with 77.65 points and Marigold IceUnity fourth with 77.48 points. Nexxice dropped to fourth place in the overall points after the free program.

Les Supremes scored 154.80, Marigold IceUnity 151.24, Nexxice 146.73 and Helsinki Rockettes 143.44. Despite the mistakes, the Helsinki Rockettes score was the fifth best in the free program.

The last time the World Championship medals were won was in 2019. At that time, Marigold IceUnity won silver, Helsinki Rockettes bronze. In 2018, Marigold IceUnity won World Cup gold.

The Russian team Paradise won the world championship in 2019, but in Hamilton, the Russian teams did not compete.
