World Darts Championship ends for Jimmy Hendriks

The Castricum darts player Jimmy Hendriks has been eliminated at the World Darts Championship in London. He lost to Brendan Dolan 3–1 in sets. This ends Hendriks’ debut in the second round of the World Cup.

Hendriks had defeated Jamie Hughes in the first round.

In the first set, Hendriks was immediately broken by Dolan and it became 3-1 for the Northern Irishman. The Castricummer couldn’t keep up with his opponent in the second set and it became 3-0 in legs. ‘The Captain’, as Hendriks is nicknamed, came back to 2-1 in the game. The number 26 in the world ranking turned out to be too good in the end: 3-1.

Van der Voort will continue

Vincent van der Voort had more success last night. The Purmerender defeated the Scot Cameron Menzies 3-0. After today there will be a short Christmas break at the World Cup, after which it will be thrown again on December 27. Van der Voort will play against Luke Humphries, the current number five in the world ranking, on December 29.

Niels Zonneveld, the third North Holland participant in the World Cup, was eliminated in the first round. His opponent was Welshman Lewy Williams.
