If Bosnia will always have a mark of prestige for having left Italy out of the World Cup, the Czech Republic can also feel like a surprise invitee to the tournament that starts today, because in the playoff they faced super favorites Denmark, after narrowly missing out on direct qualification, beaten in the last match of the group by Scotland. Instead the Czechs, who had already beaten Ireland on penalties, repeated themselves against the Danes, again on penalties (just like Bosnia) and after twenty years they returned to the world cup.

At 1566 meters Guadalajarain the friendly Chivas stadium known as El Volcan, the Czechs will try to get off to a good start against South Korea.
