Shortly before the start of the World Cup, the secret favorite Morocco has to accept two notable failures. Central defender Nayef Aguerd (30) from Olympique Marseille and left winger Abde Ezzalzouli (24) from Real Betis Sevilla are out injured. The duo, who have a combined market value of €55 million, have already been replaced on the FIFA website.

National coach Mohamed Ouahbi reacted according to his position and nominated defensive veteran Marwane Saadane (34) from Al-Fateh SC in Saudi Arabia and Amine Sbaï (25), who plays for Angers SCO in France. Together they have a market value of 4.4 million euros.

Morocco starts the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the USA in the group phase on the night from Saturday to Sunday (00:00) against Brazil. The other group opponents are Scotland on June 20th (00:00 a.m.) and Haiti on June 25th (00:00 a.m.).
