The German U17 national team is playing an outstanding tournament so far at the World Cup in Indonesia. After the last victories against the USA (3:2) and Spain (1:0), title favorite Argentina is now waiting for the DFB youngsters in the World Cup semi-finals. It was not expected until recently that U17 national coach Christian Wück’s team would play such a strong World Cup tournament. The German junior national team showed top performances in the group phase and scored the maximum points from the three games against Mexico (3:1), New Zealand (3:1) and Venezuela (3:0).
In the knockout phase, the U17 boys didn’t let anything go wrong either. In the round of 16 there was a 3-2 win against the USA, followed three days later by a 1-0 coup against the supposed top favorites Spain.
On Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. German time, the team around BVB young striker and top goalscorer Paris Brunner wants to land the next big coup against Argentina and make it to the finals perfect. The game will be played at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta.
