The 19-year-old striker Danjo Leonhardt from EC Salzburg scored the winning goal (49th minute). Nuremberg’s Daniel Schmölz scored into the orphaned goal shortly before the end and once again drew attention to himself in the pre-season.
Second win in the third preparatory game
Previously, Stefan Loibl from the Swedish team Skellefteå AIK (25th) and Alexander Karachun from the Schwenninger Wild Wings (38th) equalized a deficit twice. This was the second success for the German Ice Hockey Federation team in the third preparatory game.
National coach Söderholm satisfied
“I really liked the commitment today. It is important that we get even more clarity in our actions”, ssaid Söderholm after the encounter.
The World Championship will be held in Finland from May 13th to 29th. Previously there had been a 2:6 and a 2:0 in the Czech Republic. Another friendly against Switzerland is scheduled for April 23 (3:00 p.m.).
Not all players on board yet
National coach Söderholm cannot yet build on the team that will appear at the World Cup in May. Mannheim, Berlin, Munich and Wolfsburg contest the playoff-Semi-finals in the German Ice Hockey League. Other players who have already been eliminated are given a break by Söderholm. In addition, the coach is hoping for reinforcements from professionals from the NHL.
