World Cup in the USA canceled

The return of the Ski Jumping World Cup to the USA after almost two decades will be canceled next winter.

As the world association FIS announced on Thursday, the two competitions in Iron Mountain/Michigan have been canceled for “technical and financial reasons”.

A replacement venue will be announced in the coming weeks.

On the renovated Pine Mountain Jump should be on 11./12. February – between the stations Willingen (February 4th/5th) and Rasnov/Romania (February 18th/19th) – two men’s World Cups will be held.

The last time the facility was jumped in the World Cup was in 2000, when Martin Schmitt won. The last US competition so far took place in Park City in 2004.
