From the largest to the smallest hill in the World Cup: The German ski jumpers made the transition well at the World Cup in Hinzenbach. Victory went to a local hero.
After the World Cup weekend in Willingen, the women’s Ski Jumping World Cup has moved on to Hinzenbach in Austria. And that is a change: Willingen is the largest large hill in the world, while Hinzenbach is the smallest normal hill in the World Cup. The hill records are almost 55 meters apart.
Eva Pinkelnig secured the victory in the Upper Austrian community. The Austrian jumped the greatest distance in both rounds (91.5/89.5 meters) and thus won ahead of the Slovenians Ema Klinec (88.5/87 m) and Nika Prevc (86.5/88 m). Best German was Katharina Althaus. After jumps of 86.5 and 87.5 meters, the five-time winner of the season finished fourth, just 1.7 points behind the podium. In the overall World Cup, Althaus remains in second place with 1,053 points, but lost a few points compared to Pinkelnig (1,242).
All six DSV jumpers in the top 20
Selina Freitag (89/87.5 m) also made it into the top ten in seventh place. However, she dropped a few points when landing the first jump and thus a few positions in the tight final. Anna Ruprecht came in eleventh (86/83 m), Pauline Hessler was 15th (82.5/84.5 m). Agnes Reisch (82.5/82.5 m) and Luisa Görlich (84.5/80.5 m) finished in 18th and 19th place.
The next competition on the Aigner-Schanze is already on the agenda early in the morning on Saturday. It starts at 9 a.m. (live ticker).
