The German snowboard duo Ramona Hofmeister and Stefan Baumeister reached the podium at the mixed team event in Bad Gastein on Wednesday (January 17, 2024).
The three-time overall World Cup winner from WSV Bischofswiesen and her colleague from SC Aising Pang took third place in the parallel slalom in Austria on Wednesday. In the small final, Hofmeister and Baumeister beat Elisa Caffont and Maurizio Bormolini from Italy with a lead of 0.35 seconds.
In the final, Austria I with Sabine Schöffmann and Andreas Prommegger prevailed against Italy 3. The defeated Lucia Dalmasso/Daniele Bagozza had the upper hand in the semi-finals against Hofmeister/Baumeister.
Elias Huber and Melanie Hochreiter were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The third German pair Cheyenne Loch/Ole-Mikkel Prantl did not make it past the round of 16.
Hofmeister is the dominant driver
Hofmeister is having an outstanding season so far. The 27-year-old won four of the first five individual races this winter – including the women’s parallel slalom in Bad Gastein on Tuesday. “It’s been a difficult year for me so far”said the builder who was recently in crisis. Now things might be working again for him too “in the right direction”.
Next weekend the raceboarders will have two events in Pamporovo, Bulgaria.
