Water jumper Moritz Wesemann tested positive for the corona virus and therefore missed the World Cup final from the three-meter board.
The 20-year-old had tested positive for the virus on Tuesday morning (June 28, 2022) using a quick test. The result of a subsequent PCR test was not available shortly before the competition in the afternoon.
“This development hits us as a team and especially Moritz personally very hard, but health always comes first for us”head national coach Lutz Buschkow was quoted in a statement by the German Swimming Association. “That’s why we are consistently implementing the specifications of the hygiene concept for these world championships.” Wesemann wished the other starters via Instagram “good luck and success”.
No other positive tests so far
