400 m – Manuel Sanders is eliminated in the World Cup heat

Manuel Sanders just missed out on the 400m semifinals. The German champion ran 45.34 seconds in the lead – the Dortmunder was missing a tenth in the end to be among the top 24 sprinters. The 25-year-old had already competed twice in the 4x400m mixed relay the day before and had achieved seventh place there together with the team. “Of course it wasn’t optimal preparation for the competition, but the mixed final was the main goal, but it’s still annoying that it didn’t work out,” said Sanders in an interview with Sportschau.
