World champion De Smet wins duathlon Kortrijk

Thibaut De Smet lives on a cloud. This month he won gold in the U23 and elite crossduathlon, as well as in the U23 short distance.

He also outclassed his opponent in Kortrijk. Halfway through the cycle part, he already has a comfortable lead of 40 seconds on pursuer Guust De Smul. Younger brother Nicolas is already several minutes behind. After that, he can already start enjoying his victory in the final three kilometers.

In the afternoon Brecht Van Vooren was the best in the triathlon in Kortrijk.
