Work/training company DAAT-Drenthe closes its doors

The work/training company DAAT-Drenthe, which has eight locations across the province of Drenthe, is closing its doors. The institution is part of the GGZ-Drenthe. A large part of the 45 supervisors connected to the organization has to look for a new job.

DAAT has branches in Beilen, Assen and Emmen, among others. These will close in the next two months. At the institution in Hoogeveen, they are still working in the background on a possible restart, but in what form that will take is not yet clear.

The GGZ Drenthe said earlier that the work / training company is loss-making and did not expect to be able to turn the tide. That fate is now sealed for the work/training company.

Employees previously took to the streets to hand out flyers to draw attention to their situation and prevent a possible closure. “That daytime activity is the lifebuoy for 400 vulnerable people with various psychological problems. It is the place where they can be themselves and where they can grow. When I look at myself: five years ago I was an unguided projectile. I have borderline and for It is very important to me to learn the things I need to learn in such a protected workplace in order to be able to do paid work again. It gives me peace of mind,” said Natasja van Viersen at the time. She works at DAAT’s frame marker in Beilen.
