Driving too fast on Buizerdlaan? If all goes well, that will now be a thing of the past. The road is closed due to road works to make the Buizerdlaan, Boekweitlaan, Lomanlaan route safer.

The road has been closed since Monday and traffic has been diverted. In the Wolfsbos district, several streets have fences to guide (stealthy) traffic. Road crews have begun construction of raised bicycle and pedestrian crossings and new median ramps. It must slow down traffic and ensure that cyclists and pedestrians can cross safely. Driving on this route was sometimes very fast, resulting in accidents. Last month, a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car.

After Buizerdlaan, work will follow on Lomanlaan and Boekweitlaan.
