Basic users do not necessarily need to pay anything for their office programs. There are several free options for both Windows, Mac and mobile users.

Microsoft’s 365 family of office programs are familiar to a large part of Finns, both in the school and work worlds. The product family, formerly known as the Office package, is now paid monthly.
A Microsoft 365 subscription that includes office applications that can be installed on a computer costs seven euros per home user per month or 69 euros per year, but the browser versions of the software are free. All you need is a Microsoft account and a network connection.
Not all features of full-blooded Word, Excel and Powerpoint can be found in their free online versions, but there are at least enough functions for basic use.
There are also options
Google’s office applications Docs, Sheets and Slides are also available for free online and on mobile devices.
If for one reason or another you don’t want to use office applications with a web browser, there is, for example, the free Finnish-language Libre Office, which can be downloaded for Windows, Linux, and Mac.
In addition, Apple’s own office programs – Pages, Numbers and Keynote – can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store for Mac, iPhone and iPad.
