While other retailers like H&M and Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof are closing stores for various reasons, Woolworth has big plans for its store network.
This year alone there will be 100 new stores in Germany, a spokesman said when asked by FashionUnited. The specialist magazine Textilwirtschaft had previously reported on it. The department store group is on the right track, as around 50 locations have already opened their doors in 2023. In March and April alone there were 36. Last year there were 60 stores.
After the other 50 locations, however, this should not be the end of it. The goal is to increase the branch network to 1000. There are currently 590 Woolworth stores.
