The department store group Woolworth is recalling certain women’s belts that could cause severe skin reactions. The “Women’s Belts Colorful Mischmasch Berlin” are affected. A chromium VI content was detected in them. The contact allergen chrome VI could lead to severe skin reactions, the company warned on Tuesday on the website of the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Warning.

Belts already purchased could be returned to department stores. The purchase price of 6.00 euros will be fully refunded, it said.

In addition to North Rhine-Westphalia, the belts were also sold in Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia. (dpa)
