The German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl will go to the Edmonton Oilers with coach Jay Woodcroft in the coming season of the North American ice hockey professional league NHL.
After the successful performance by reaching the semi-finals, the Canadians extended the contract with the head coach for another two seasons, the club announced.
Woodcraft had succeeded Dave Tippett in February and then led the club into the playoffs, where they only lost in the semifinals against Colorado Avalanche. The 45-year-old previously coached the Oilers’ farm team, the Bakersfield Condors.
