The Wonderskin miracle red that was buzzing on social media failed its promise.
I love red lips, but in practice I’m a bad lipstick wearer. Usually Reds dry out my lips or feel annoyingly sticky, or I forget to add it during the day. If it goes well, the color will eventually disappear without a trace. If it’s bad, you’ll be left with a red ring around the outer edges of your lips, which makes the look look sloppy, to put it nicely.

That’s why I got interested when social media started buzzing about the new Wonderskin red, which was advertised to last 24 hours, feel nothing on the lips, and be non-spreading and non-staining. To my delight, I got the miracle blush for the test. I tried Wonderskin on two different days, and the results were exactly the same both times.
Crafting
Redding your lips with this new product is an adventure to say the least. First, a dark blue mask is applied to the lips, which is allowed to dry for 10-15 seconds to a bright red or 30-45 seconds to a stronger color. I personally applied two or three layers according to the recommendation and let it take effect for a longer time. The mask caused a slight tingle when it took effect.

After this, liquid activator is sprayed on the lips with the included lip towel, protecting the chin. The spray practically spread over the entire area of the lower part of the face, so you should make up your lips with this product first, so as not to mess up other make-up. However, the color spread with the spray came off the skin of the face easily. The fingers, on the other hand, remained red. After a few seconds of exposure, the mask is easy to wipe off with a lip wipe, it comes off in one piece.
The truth will be revealed
The end result is nice and natural. This is where the promise is kept: the red doesn’t feel like anything on the lips, even though the color is strong. The red didn’t even dry my lips at all. Since only pigment remains on the lips, it also does not stain or spread. If the mask has spread over too large an area, you can clean the edges with, for example, a cotton pad moistened with micellar water. Using a delineating pencil would also have made the edges jagged.

After a couple of hours of gardening and one meal, the truth about this red can be seen in the mirror. The red has started to wear off from the inner surface of the lips. A couple of more hours, and all that’s left is the dead drum mentioned at the beginning of the story. At this point, you have to forcefully remove the remaining lipstick from the outer edges of your lips, which is a surprisingly difficult task, because you don’t even dare to go to the local store looking like this.

The saying that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t, applies to this lipstick as well. With this amount of crafting, I also can’t see myself adding this red in the middle of a busy workday, let alone during a restaurant evening, so the invention is useless, at least for my own use.
