The FC Barcelona international has not returned to training with her teammates after requesting a change at half-time against Italy
The Spanish Federation has reported that it has not participated in the session in Las Rozas due to being unwell.
Aitana Bonmatí has been absent from morning training carried out by the Spanish team in the Ciudad del Fútbol of Las Rozas. The Ballon d’Or winner asked for the change in the match against Italy and since then she has not been able to work normally.
The Spanish Federation reported that Aitana was unwell and this prevented him from training. Those of Montse Tomé exercised to prepare for the final UEFA Nations League match against Sweden on Tuesday in Malaga.
Aitana, therefore, is a doubt for the match against the Swedes, but it is expected that she will be able to travel with the rest of her teammates to the Costa del Sol. Spain no longer has anything at stake after having certified its first place in the group and qualification for the Final Four.
The Barça player clarified this Saturday through social networks that he had requested the change in the break against the Italians in Pontevedra because “I wasn’t feeling well” and that it was “the best thing for the team.”
Test in Malaga
In this way, Aitana settled the controversy since her change was late and Spain started the second half with ten players. A lapse that Italy took advantage of to tie the game and, later, come back to the final 2-3.
Spain travels to Malaga this Monday to get rid of the bad taste in its mouth of the defeat against Italy and facing the duel against Sweden as a good test facing the Final Four in February, where a place will be at stake for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
