Women’s premier class on DAZN will be free in the future

Bayern and Frankfurt are fighting to advance in the Women’s Champions League. Your games can be viewed for free in Germany.

When FC Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt fight for progress in the Champions League next week, these games will be available to watch for free. As DAZN Great Britain announced on Wednesday, the streaming broadcaster has decided to offer the Champions League on free TV from now on. When asked by t-online, DAZN confirmed that this also applies to Germany. This means that both the FC Bayern game in Rome (January 24th) and the Eintracht game in Barcelona (January 25th) can be seen free of charge.

The broadcaster hopes that the special offer will enable women’s football to be developed “in an economically viable and sustainable manner,” as the statement states. The company also counts on the support of renowned sponsors, who are seen by more people on free TV.

DAZN wants to promote its free offer

At the same time, the step should also help to promote DAZN’s new free offer. Since December, the streaming channel has had the opportunity to access selected DAZN content freely and without taking out a subscription.

In addition to the games from the Women’s Champions League, selected games from the Women’s Bundesliga and highlight games from top international leagues will also be shown. In addition to top-class women’s football, DAZN will also show the duel between German boxer Nina Meinke and boxing star Amanda Serrano on March 2nd. You can find the complete current program of the free channel here.

There has been repeated criticism of DAZN recently because the company had to raise prices as its sports rights portfolio grew. While DAZN only cost ten euros when it launched in 2016, the price has increased threefold to this day. With almost all games in the Champions League as well as the Friday and Sunday games in the Bundesliga, the company has some of the most lucrative but also the most expensive rights in the sports industry.
