The semi-final of the women’s DFB Cup between FC Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt on Easter Sunday (March 31, 3:45 p.m.) will also be broadcast live on ARD.
The German Football Association announced this on Monday (March 11, 2024). In addition to ARD, the pay channel Sky will also broadcast the top duel on Easter Sunday.
In the second semi-final on Holy Saturday (March 30th, 1 p.m.), defending champions VfL Wolfsburg will face Bundesliga rivals SGS Essen. The final will take place on May 9th at the Rhein-Energie-Stadion in Cologne.
The Munich team had recently met Wolfsburg in the semi-finals three times in a row – and lost all of their duels.
FC Bayern moved back into the semi-finals with a 3-0 win at second division club Carl Zeiss Jena, while Frankfurt beat MSV Duisburg 4-1 in the quarter-finals.
Wolfsburg have been unbeaten in the cup for 48 games
Serial winners Wolfsburg qualified for the semi-finals with a 3-0 win at TSG Hoffenheim; it was their 48th win in a row in the cup competition. Essen reached the semi-finals with a 2-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen.
The semi-final duel against Essen is a new edition of the 2020 final, which Wolfsburg won 4-2 on penalties.
