Women’s Day: recognition of the teachers of Argentine journalism

Within the framework of International Women’s Day, the Periodistas Argentinas collective distinguished the careers of 15 great teachers of the profession. The event, which took place this afternoon at the Manzana de las Luces, was hosted by Nancy Pazos, Eugenia Morea and Silvia Martínez Cassina.

In the event, which lasted until around 7:00 p.m., there were slogans that were repeated: the approval of the law of equity in the media and the defense of rigor in the profession in times of uncertainty. In each of their areas, the 15 distinguished women not only stood out for their quality as journalists but also for their ethics and commitment.

“May this be the year in which we achieve equity. We say that they do not punish us for giving birth, that they do not harass us, that they do not treat us like objects,” was one of the requests at the close of the act.

Among the guests were the Secretary of Legal and Technical, Vilma Ibarra; the sociologist Dora Barrancos; the city’s Minister of Culture, Enrique Avogadro; the former Minister of Security, Sabina Frederic; former Development Minister Daniel Arroyo; presidential adviser Cecilia Nicolini; the journalists Miriam Lewin, Rosario Lufrano, Luciana Geuna, Florencia Halfon, Mariana Arias, María O’Ddonnell and Bernarda Llorente.
