Bayer Leverkusen left important points in the fight for the Champions League places. Against the alleys from Cologne there was only a 1: 1 (0: 1) draw in the women’s Bundesliga.
Taylor Ziemer surprisingly put Cologne in the lead in the Rheinische derby (35th minute), Leverkusens Cornelia Kramer succeeded at the beginning of the second round of equalizer. Despite the superiority of the favored Leverkusen women, the winning goal no longer scored.
In the race for the Champions League positions, Leverkusen has to accept a bitter setback. With a victory, the hosts could have moved to Eintracht Frankfurt to one point, which is currently in third place-and thus the Champions League qualification place. With only three remaining games, it should be difficult to intercept the Frankfurt women.
Cologne, on the other hand, heads towards relegation: Although the FC has only collected eight points with the away point. However, since the women’s Bundesliga is increased from 12 to 14 teams, there is only one relegation this year. This seems to be determined with Turbine Potsdam (so far a point at 4:62 goals).
Ziemer meets worth seeing for Cologne
In a lively first half, both teams started bravely and ran up the opponent. In the course of the game, the hosts managed to break away from the pressure more and more and to combine it as well.
A very fine plug -in pass and a sensational dribbling were enough to get the course of the game on the head: Loreen Bender staged Ziemer, who let two opponents get out with a hook and closed off the far corner.
With the swing of the leadership, the Cologne women even pushed the 2-0 lead: Adriana Achinska pulled off the edge of the box, the end flew a good meter past the goal (40th). Leverkusen could hardly combine it successfully, seemed intimidated by the goal.
Cologne leaves Kramer head
A standard brought the hosts back into play. After Leverkusen got out of the cabin well and pressed the pace, it was Kramer who hit the strikes released from the Cologne defensive on the corner of the corner – already the striker’s ninth season.
