FC Bayern – beware of the Frankfurt women
The Bayern women cannot afford to lose points in the current situation, but caution is advised in front of Eintracht Frankfurt. The Hessians recently won the chasing duel against TSG Hoffenheim 3-2, last weekend the team won against SGS Essen (1-0).
In Sjoeke Nüsken, Laura Freigang and the energetic Nicole Anyomi, the Frankfurters have a lot of playing strength, especially in the centre. Because of their many position changes, they are difficult to defend.
Frankfurt has good cards in the fight for third place in the European Cup. But especially in the long term, things seem to be growing for the Hessians.
Decisive weeks for Bayern women
This is the start of interesting weeks for Bayern: Within a month they play Frankfurt, twice against Paris and twice against Wolfsburg. On Matchday 19 they have to go to the Autostadt for what may be the decisive game, after the international break it’s down to business at home in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup.
After that, either all dreams of the title could be gone or an attempt could be made to confirm or even expand on the successes of the previous season.
Wolfsburg has coped well with upheaval
In the pole position in the league, however, VfL Wolfsburg is basking in the sun at the moment. After initial difficulties, the women from Wolfsburg are still represented in all three competitions, the performance curve is steadily rising.
“Thanks to our sporting director, Ralf Kellermann, we were in a situation where the upheaval was deliberately planned“says trainer Tommy Stroot. “It is my job to direct this. We’ve been on the road for a few months now and we’re still everywhere, and we have good opportunities.”
