Bayern Munich’s footballers have at least temporarily taken over the lead in the Bundesliga.
The defending champions won 1-0 (1-0) against TSG Hoffenheim and initially pushed past cup winners VfL Wolfsburg. Klara Bühl (22nd minute) scored the winning goal for the hosts. In the race for the championship, the Munich team is now two points ahead of Wolfsburg. The Wolfsburg women will compete at the restart on Monday (7.30 p.m.) at SGS Essen. With a win, VfL can move back to the top. In the second game on Saturday, RB Leipzig lost 0:2 (0:1) against SC Freiburg.
Bremen turns game against Leverkusen
Werder Bremen had already made a late comeback on Friday. After Bayer Leverkusen took a long lead, Hannah Nemeth (77′) and Jasmin Sehan (90’+2) scored two late goals to give the hosts a 2-1 (0-1) win. Nikola Karczewska (21′) had given coach Robert de Pauw’s Werkself the lead. The two teams remain in the middle of the table with 17 points for the time being, although Werder (6th place) moved past Leverkusen (7th) due to the better goal difference.
