A woman died in the night from Friday to Saturday in her home on Klaproosstraat in Asten after a stabbing. A 24-year-old man from Deurne has been arrested. According to local residents, this is the son of the killed resident, but the police cannot yet confirm this.
The first report of the stabbing came in just after midnight on Friday night. An air ambulance was also called in to provide assistance. This was to no avail.
Bumblebee
Police forensic specialists are investigating what exactly happened this Saturday morning. A police van is at the door, barrier tapes hang around the house.
Local residents state that the police were often at the woman’s door, especially for the son who would now have been arrested. “It was sometimes bumblebee,” says one of them. According to another, the woman had four children, two of whom still lived at home.
Flowers
Around noon two bunches of flowers are at the house. A 57-year-old local resident puts them down. She is in tears. “I knew her well. She was such a sweet woman. She was always there for everyone.”
