In an accident on the Nieuwe Waalreseweg in Valkenswaard, a woman crossing the road was hit with her dog. The blow was so hard that one of the woman’s shoes landed over the fence of local residents. She was rushed to hospital and the dog did not survive.
The perpetrator, who came from the direction of Waalre, continued driving after the accident. The police report that it is probably a BMW. At the scene of the accident, officers found parts of such a type of car. They are also looking for camera images. A Burgernet notification has also been sent.
The accident happened near Seringenstraat. The road is closed. Traffic is being diverted.
Police forensic investigators investigated the dog in collaboration with the Brabant Noord-Oost animal ambulance. The animal was examined for traces and hairs were removed for a possible lawsuit. The dog has now been handed over to the victim’s family and will be cremated, the animal ambulance reports
