A motorist fled the scene on Saturday night after her car collided head-on with another car on Kanaaldijk Noord in Someren. This happened around half past three.
There were three women in one car, and two women in the other car – with a French license plate. One of the women was taken to a hospital. The others were checked by ambulance personnel.
Sniffer dog
The driver of the French car then left the scene of the accident. The fire brigade and officers with a sniffer dog searched for this woman, but could not find her. The road was littered with car parts and glass for dozens of meters. Both cars were a total loss after the head-on collision and were collected by a salvage company.
