Woman remains in cell for guilty omission in the event of death in Ruddervoorde

The lifeless body of the victim was discovered on Sunday afternoon in a house along Torhoutsestraat in Ruddervoorde, a sub-municipality of Oostkamp. Based on the initial findings, it was decided to launch an investigation into the death of the thirty-year-old. Certain elements pointed to a fatal overdose. Further investigation will have to bring more clarity about the exact circumstances of the death.

According to the suspect, the man would have taken heroin and possibly also medication. After finding the body, the resident of the building was taken by the police for questioning.

Previously convicted

On Tuesday morning, KS was arrested by the investigating judge on suspicion of accidental death and guilty omission. According to his own words, the suspect did not know that the victim was in such a bad condition. When she realized that he may have died, she immediately informed the emergency services, according to her counsel.

The suspect was still under conditions after she was sentenced to fifteen months in prison with probation in December 2021 for drug offenses.
