Woman kicks dog and pulls animal on leash across the street: euthanasia after animal abuse

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday evening in Leffingestraat in Ostend. While on patrol, a police squad noticed a 37-year-old woman who repeatedly kicked her dog and pulled it on a leash across the street.

Police immediately took the animal to a vet, where several trauma-related injuries were diagnosed. The dog had to be euthanized due to the injuries.

The police will draw up an official report and, together with the public prosecutor’s office, will investigate the case further.
