Woman is no longer allowed to enter West Flanders after she injures her partner twice with a knife

At her apartment in Ostend, the woman got into a fight with her partner on May 12 last year. During that heated argument, she handed out three knife stabs. With injuries to the arm, neck and ear, the victim stumbled outside where he was found bleeding. The man was briefly in mortal danger, but soon recovered.

Alcohol problem

HR was arrested on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. On June 14, 2022, the Bruges council chamber decided that she could leave the prison under certain conditions. The Ostend woman had to be accompanied for her alcohol problem and was given a restraining order.

But two months later she had a relationship with the man again. This year it was again a fierce fight. In that new stabbing, the victim sustained minor injuries to his back. There was no danger to life this time.

The woman was arrested again on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and because she violated her conditions.

Regret

According to the defense, the suspect regrets what happened. Master Gregory Everaert successfully pleaded for his client’s release.

In the coming months, the woman will have to comply with a series of conditions. For example, she was again imposed a restraining order and is not even allowed to enter West Flanders at all for the time being.

She will later have to answer for both stabbings before the criminal court
