A woman who was riding a bicycle with her toddler in Ommen this afternoon was injured when she collided with another cyclist. She was taken to the Isala hospital in Zwolle.
The collision happened when the woman was driving on the newly opened part of a new separate bicycle path on Chevalleraustraat. A man on the bicycle wanted to cross the road just before the new roundabout there and saw the woman overlook.
Both cyclists fell: the woman the most unlucky. The ambulance had to come from far and the staff of a passing ambulance that was already transporting a patient first took care of the woman.
The woman had, among other things, leg injuries and was transported to the hospital in Zwolle. In a seat on her bicycle was a toddler who, as far as is known, remained uninjured. The child was taken care of by others. The man was also checked, but was able to continue on his way.
