A 55-year-old woman from Meppel has been arrested after her car ended up in the water on the Holtrustweg near Rouveen.
An officer pulled the woman out of the water. She was treated for hypothermia in an ambulance, but did not have to go to hospital.
A breath test showed that the woman had drunk too much. It is still unclear how her car ended up in the water.
