A 48-year-old woman from Emmen was abused last Wednesday in pharmacy De Vriendschap in Emmen and attacked by a man and a woman. The comments she received were racist in nature. The woman, who comes from Senegal, has reported discrimination and open violence.
The Senegalese woman was verbally abused by the couple while waiting in the pharmacy. When the man and woman had finished in the pharmacy, they waited for the Senegalese outside. When the woman came out, the couple became violent towards the victim, according to police.
The man and woman have since turned themselves in to the police and are being questioned. They are suspect in this case. They also filed a complaint against the woman, because she would have destroyed a coat during the fight.
