A woman ended up in a deep ditch with water in Etten-Leur on Saturday while walking her dog. She fell into the ditch, fell through the ice and ended up up to her neck in ice-cold water, police said.
An alert bystander saw what happened and jumped into the ditch to save the woman. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. It is unclear how she ended up in the ditch.
“Partly thanks to his quick intervention, the woman could be removed from the ditch,” the police said. The man will receive an extra thank you from the officers soon.
“It takes courage to act so quickly and adequately,” the police said.
