Woman faces trial for torture of two young stepsons

VV is said to have blamed threatening letters and vandalism on her then 9 and 11-year-old stepsons. The victims’ parents and other stepmothers were also on trial for inhumane treatment.

VV started a relationship in 2009 with WM (48), who had two sons from a previous relationship. When the couple had a daughter together, M. was bombarded with threatening letters that seemed to be written by her sons. In addition, the family was hit by arson and other destruction.

The alleged ongoing problems also affected their relationship with their father DV (45) and his new partner PV (50). For example, they were sometimes locked in their room, while the children were also beaten until they gave in. Ultimately, the victims were placed in institutions for several years.

Things took a new turn when WM wanted to give one of her sons a camera as a gift for Christmas in 2013. The lens turned out to be destroyed and the accompanying card had been exchanged by V.. Only in 2020 did a writing expert come to the conclusion that she also wrote the threatening letters. However, V. denies any involvement. The other defendants then again requested the acquittal by pointing to her dubious role. The trial continues on October 10.
