A woman died in the night from Friday to Saturday in her home on Klaproosstraat in Asten after a stabbing. A 24-year-old man from Deurne has been arrested. It is unclear what the relationship between the victim and the suspect is.
The first report of the stabbing came in just after midnight on Friday night. An air ambulance was also called in to provide assistance. That was to no avail.
Police forensic specialists are investigating what exactly happened on Saturday.
