A 54-year-old man without a permanent residence was caught in the room of an elderly couple in a nursing home in Tilburg on Thursday evening. He then handed out a punch to the 94-year-old resident. The man has been arrested.
When the 94-year-old woman and her husband came home, they saw the man coming out of their bathroom. When the woman wanted to raise the alarm, she was punched by the burglar.
Overpowered
The man was eventually overpowered by two employees of the care home and handed over to the police. “The man is a frequent offender who was already wanted for two similar cases elsewhere in the country,” the police write.
The burglar also had a bag of belongings with him. He probably stole it somewhere else.
