Woman (60) killed in Marke near Kortrijk

The Monseigneur Callewaertstraat in Marke has been closed off since just before eight o’clock tonight. The public prosecutor of West Flanders confirms that an investigation is underway into a suspicious death. According to our information, a 60-year-old woman was killed with a knife. A man entered the house where the woman has been living since the end of June this summer with her grandchild, a nine-year-old girl. He was targeting the woman, why is not clear.

Grandchild goes to get help

Earlier there were already interventions by the police who were called up several times because it was loud in the house. According to our information, the woman was stabbed tonight that killed her. The girl ran off into the street and went to get help. Moments later, an ambulance and the MUG arrived on the scene, but the woman was of no help.

The perpetrator was on the run, but according to our information, would have been caught. Investigators also arrived on the scene.
