A 29-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday because she was driving wrong-way at one of the busiest points in Eindhoven. She was about to turn onto busy John F. Kennedy Avenue when she came across a traffic police video surveillance car.
The images from that car show that the young woman drives into traffic in a Volkswagen on the double driveway to the Sterrenlaan. A teaching car can even be seen on the right of the photo.
Thanks to the traffic police officers, the woman did not drive onto the busy Kennedylaan. It is not known exactly how the woman started wrong driving. She probably turned right on Sterrenlaan and did not notice that the two lanes are one-way traffic.
The woman said she was on her way to the hospital. But oddly enough, she was just driving away from the hospital. “To prevent her from unintentionally taking more people to the hospital, we sent her in the right direction with a fine of 289 euros,” said a spokesman for the traffic police.
